Open Workshop: Towards Net Zero Buildings

On October 3rd a public workshop will be held in Palau Robert Gardens, in order to disseminate Task results and NZEB examples amongst local municipalities and building professionals. Some of the most representative buildings located in Mediterranean / warm climates will be presented by our colleagues. The event will be held in English and will last for about 3 hours in the afternoon, including some networking time.

Study Tour

A technical tour will be held in Monday afternoon, to Blood and Tissue Bank of Catalonia (BST) building (see location). Architects and building users will guide us through this award-winning building which is still being under improvement via better energy control processes. The BST is a reference centre for processing blood and human tissues, and also a public stem cell bank. It is been conceived as a low demand and high energy efficiency building, with an expected 87% reduction in the consumption of air conditioning.

Please consult panel 1, and panel 2 for more information.

Tour

Cultural tour

On Tuesday afternoon there will be a cultural guided tour to some of the most interesting places in Barcelona city center held by Architour.

The Born and the Ribera quarters

The powerful Gothic-Renaissance palaces in Montcada Street, the Born Old Market and its archaeological ruins being remodeled, the austerity and preciousness of the Catalan Gothic of Santa Maria del Mar, the modernism of the Palau de la Música and some contemporary buildings offer an intricate richness of this ancient city.

Dinner

An informal dinner of the Task members will be held in the evening of Tuesday 2nd at a nice restaurant in the city centre by the sea, Sal Cafe. Vegetarian option will be available. If you are attending, please indicate your preference on the registration form, including food allergies. We hope we can find some sponsors so that we can invite you to dinner, but if it is not possible fee would be about 35 €/person.
