Towards Net Zero Energy Solar Buildings

Experience and feedback of the IEA SHC Task 40 / ECBCS Annex 52

Sunday, August 25, 2013 - 09:00 to 16:00 - Centre des Congrès, Rue Jean Monard, Aix les Bains

Purpose of the Task/Annex

Several International Energy Agency (IEA) countries have adopted a vision of so-called ‘net zero energy buildings’ as long-term goal of their energy policies. However, what is missing is a clear definition and international agreement on the measures of building performance that could inform ‘zero energy’ building policies, programs and industry adoption around the world. The objectives of the joint Task/Annex “Towards Net Zero Energy Solar Buildings” are to study current net-zero, near net-zero and very low energy buildings and to develop a common understanding of a harmonized international definitions framework, tools, innovative solutions and industry guidelines. To achieve this objective the Task/Annex will document and propose practical Net ZEB demonstration projects, with convincing architectural quality.

Purpose of the Workshop

This workshop is planned to present the results and the feedbacks of the Task/Annex about the design of Net Zero Energy Buildings through different case studies. It also proposes an exchange and discussions between the task participants and a large audience composed of people interested in the design process of Net ZEBs.
